Africa: flags and capitals
In the Africa Collection you will get to know 54 countries of the quiz through their flags and capitals. Recurring colors make comparisons exciting, but do not replace accurate consideration. Pay attention to the direction of the stripes, stars and unusual divisions. This creates manageable picture groups from which you can safely distinguish the individual countries step by step.

Common Colors, Different Images
Red, gold and green meet you in Ghana’s flag. The black star in the middle provides a clear recognition feature there. For the first assignment, it is worth consciously considering the color of the star. Only through its exact execution does a symbol become a reliable indication.
Nigeria offers a clear contrast: green, white and green stand in vertical lanes. Compare this quiet division with a horizontal pattern. For this you do not need an extensive theory of meaning; even the precise description trains the eye for differences that are easily blurred in the fast quiz.
Meanings not transferred flat-rate
The South African flag stands out for its converging design. Their official statement emphasizes the connection of different social elements. The government warns against assigning a generally binding meaning to each individual color. A popular color explanation is therefore not automatically an official interpretation.
Do not transfer declarations from one country to another unchecked. Even the same colors can have different origin stories and interpretations. Write separately what you actually see and what a source explains. This also makes the later comparison with historical flags more understandable and prevents invented connections.
Capitals as a second track of knowledge
Connect each image first with the country and then with the capital. If you only guess one city, the country allocation is not yet consolidated. Therefore, occasionally ask for both details one after the other and check them independently in the respective profile.
Special political centers need an addition instead of a simplified donkey bridge. South Africa distributes central functions to Pretoria, Cape Town and Bloemfontein; the respective roles are part of the Declaration. Read such hints consciously, before you transfer a supposedly clear capital rule to all countries.
Details Worth Remembering
Star instead of color list
Look for the black star in Ghana first. A striking single feature can lead to the correct image group faster than enumerating all colors.
Specify patterns
Describe Nigeria completely: green on the outside, white on the inside, three vertical paths. Thus, an unnoticed directional error becomes immediately visible during monitoring.
Understanding exceptions
A special capital indicates which question is answered. The name of a city and the state function of its seat together form the more precise information.
